Most people recognise a cappuccino when they see one, but what actually goes into it? A cappuccino is typically made with one shot of espresso and topped with hot milk and a layer of foamed milk. It’s usually prepared using an espresso machine. Wondering about the calorie content? A cappuccino made with whole milk has around 165 calories. If you go for skimmed milk instead, you’re looking at roughly 96 calories. The final count depends on how much milk you use, what kind of milk it is, and any extras you add.

To make a cappuccino using your TASSIMO machine, you’ll need two pods, a milk or creamer pod and an espresso pod. Both are included in your cappuccino coffee pod pack. Start with the milk T DISC to create that smooth, foamy layer, then follow up with the espresso pod. Just pop the milk pod into your TASSIMO machine, close the lid, press the button and let it work its magic. Once that’s done, insert the espresso pod and press the button again. Your cappuccino will be ready to enjoy in moments.

With so many coffee styles out there, it can be tricky to tell them apart. Both cappuccinos and lattes start with an espresso shot, but differ in how the milk is used. A cappuccino has a balanced mix of espresso, steamed milk and milk foam. A latte uses more steamed milk and just a small amount of foam. Since lattes contain more milk, they tend to have more calories than cappuccinos.
