When your TASSIMO Vivy descaling light (the light next to the spray icon) turns red, you should descale your Vivy coffee machine. Watch the descaling instruction video or follow the steps below.
All you need are 2 Bosch TASSIMO descaling tablets and a container of min. 17 fl. oz.
Remove the water tank from the side of your TASSIMO Vivy and fill it with fresh water up to the marking. Add the two descaling tablets and wait until fully dissolved. Place the water tank back in the machine.
Remove the Service Disc from the bottom left side of your TASSIMO Vivy machine. Place the Service Disc with the barcode facing down in the coffee machine where your normally place your coffee pod and remove the cup platform.
Place the container under the machine and hold down the start/stop button for about 5 seconds. The descaling program will now begin. The status and descaling displays will flash to indicate the machine is descaling.
After approximately 30 minutes, the status and water tank displays will light up. This means the first stage of the process is complete. Empty the container out.
You will need a container with a volume of at least 9 fl. oz and a soft cloth. Reinsert the cup platform. Remove the water tank and clean it with the soft cloth. Fill the water tank to the maximum marking and place it back. Now place the 9 fl. oz container beneath the brew head and press the start/stop button in order to start the cleaning program.
The status light will flash during cleaning. Once it lights up permanently, the program is done. Empty the container and repeat the same cleaning program (from step 6) 2 more times to make sure all the descaling solution is gone.
Once finished, remove the Service T DISC and stow away in the bottom left of your TASSIMO Vivy again. Fill the water tank with fresh water and place it back into the machine. Your TASSIMO Vivy has now been descaled and is ready for use again.

To clean your TASSIMO Vivy machine, you need a soft cloth and a container of at least 9 fl. oz.
Unplug the machine and remove the cup platform. Clean the cup platform under running water or in a dishwasher. Remove the T DISC mount and the pressing device from the head of the machine. Disassemble the pressing device before cleaning. Clean the mount and pressing device under running water or in a dishwasher. Thoroughly clean the brewing unit, the barcode scanner window and the nozzle. Assemble the pressing device back together and insert back in place before inserting the T DISC mount. Plug in the machine so your TASSIMO Vivy will switch on.
Remove the water tank and clean it with a soft cloth. Fill the water tank with water up to the maximum marking and insert the water tank back in.
Now remove the Service T DISC from the bottom left of your machine and place it into your TASSIMO Vivy, where you normally place your T DISC. Place a container of at least 9 fl. oz. beneath the brew head and press the start/stop button. The TASSIMO cleaning cycle will now start.
When the display light stops flashing and lights up permanently, the cleaning cycle is finished. Empty out the container, remove the Service T DISC and put it back in the machine again. Fill the water tank with fresh water. Your TASSIMO Vivy is now ready for use again.

Before making your first cup of coffee with your TASSIMO Vivy machine, it's important to clean your machine first. Read the user manuals part 1 and 2 thoroughly, grab a container with a volume of at least 9 fl. oz. and a soft cloth.
Plug in the machine and the 'fill the water tank' display will light up red. Remove the water tank, clean it with the soft cloth and fill it with water up to the maximum marking. Insert the water tank back in. Remove the Service T DISC from the bottom left of the machine and insert the service T DISC in the brewhead.
Place a container of minimal 9 fl. oz. beneath the brew head and press the start/stop button in order to start the cleaning process. The cleaning process is complete when the status display lights up permanently.
Empty out the container and repeat the cleaning process three more times. After cleaning, remove the Service T DISC and stow it away in your machine again.
Fill up the water tank and insert it back in. Your TASSIMO Vivy is ready for its first cup of coffee.
Place a mug, cup or coffee glass on the cup stand and open the head of the coffee machine.
Insert a T DISC (the official TASSIMO coffee pods) of your choice with the barcode facing down.
Close the head again and press the start/stop button. Your TASSIMO Vivy will recognize the barcode and serve your coffee, tea or hot chocolate perfectly. Enjoy!

Why does my TASSIMO Vivy show a red light?
Does your TASSIMO Vivy show a red light cup? This is the error light. Please check if you inserted a T DISC, if the machine was closed properly and if the barcode scanner was clean. How to make a full cup with TASSIMO Vivy?
Is your coffee smaller than expected? Press and hold the start/stop button to fill up your cup. Release the button when you have reached your desired quantity.
The lid of my TASSIMO Vivy won't open. What should I do?
If the TASSIMO Vivy lid is stuck, please wait until the cup light has stopped blinking. Try opening it again. Still locked? Try unplugging the coffee machine for 30 minutes and try once again. Or call the TASSIMO careline.
